I have one of their earlier albums: Performance And Cocktails which is quite good. I recommend it.
I have it too. Its all right, but it doesnt really give me anything. To call the lyrics shallow would be an understatement. Plus the singing isn't all that great. But they've got a cool name, I give them that.

God I love "Dakota"... I heard it going home at 12:30 last nite and went out and picked up the album today. Good first half, but thats all i've got to hear so far.
Dakota is one of my top 10 songs of 05 so far though for sure.
They're from a tiny Welsh village. The first album (Word Gets Around) was very good - Kelly Jones was a great writer back then. The second was noticeable weaker lyrically but still had some strong moments. Then they turned into a crowd pleasing arena rock band and all the subtlety vanished from Kelly's vocals and his songwriting. Have A Nice Day.

I missed them yesterday they were playing in Grant Park for the Taste of Chicago for free along with Moby and John Hiatt. Anybody catch Stereophonics on L8?
yes the show was pretty good (and im not a fan, yet)
setlist
- bartender and thief - dakota - maybe tomorrow - local boy in the photograph
You need to check out Maybe Tomorrow. Totally different sound, but great song.. The Stereophonics have gone back and forth with their albums and sound.
