I just got into them more. I had heard Abel and recently heard Mr. November on satellite radio.

Alligator was definitely in my top five of 2005. Some of those songs are just brilliant.

This is one of those albums that just needs time and some listens to pick up. I'd definetly put it higher on my top30 of '05 if I'd have the chance to re-do it. It's a great night album.

Karen is brilliant and Alligator is definitely an awesome album. Secret Meeting is also very good.

Does anyone know how their stuff was prior to Alligator though?

I bought Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers a few months ago, but have only listened to it once or twice. Not because it's no good, it's just that I've been obsessed with Alligator and haven't given it an honest effort.

this year looks more promising than others in recent memory w/bloc party (which i guess isn't as good as their last), arcade fire, wilco, nin, bright eyes, the national, britt daniel, possibly spoon... not sure what else off the top of my head, but probably some cool shit i've never heard of as well
