They have a compilation called "Countdown 1992-1983", which has the 'best' stuff pre-His N' Hers.

It's been a while since I listened to it, but the 90s stuff is definetly better. I remember I was digging My legendary Girlfriend.

My ipod just reminded me of how awesome the video for 'bad cover version' is. You know the only reason they made it a single was so they'd have an excuse to do the video. The fake Bono and Bjork are spot on.

I'm convinced they released it as a single just to make the video.

yes DOAHT, you were right, Wickerman is sweet

and bad cover version is the song

"Aah, sing your song
About all the sad imitations that got it so wrong
It's like a later "Tom & Jerry"
when the two of them could talk
like the Stones since the Eighties"

:D

I heard that Nick Cave did a cover of Disco 2000, has anyone heard it and if so, how is it?

....... nevermind, found it,...

there are Two Nick Cave versions of the song. The awesome 'pub rock' version, and the slow acoustic one here.

At the very end of the first series of the British satirical cartoon Monkey Dust there's what I think is a Pulp instrumental played over the final scenes. I can't remember the name but it's absolutely brilliant. And the lack of a name is driving me nuts. :x

Google says it's Sunrise.

" It is never explicitly shown whether or not Ivan is homocidal until the first series ends with his mind snapping, his dismemberment of the prison staff and his ride to freedom on a horrific space hopper made from their bodies (to the music of "Sunrise" by Pulp)."
