not the worst albums, but the most disappointing.

voxtrot - voxtrot: this one is obvious. i haven't even listened to the whole thing and i heard rumors that the new songs weren't good. its not bad for debut, its just sad when your EPs are far greater than your album, i mean talk about career suicide.

bloc party - weekend in the city: i'm only a casual fan of them and i didn't really know what to expect from this but its pretty mediocre. i'll never understand why a few of the bsides are better than the whole album.

the shins - wincing the night away: its got a few standout tracks but overall its pretty meh.

wilco - sky blue sky: i'll probably get flamed for this and i haven't fully digested it yet but i was expecting something far greater. it seems very safe and i'm not sure if its something that'll still be exciting in 5 to 10 years...

arcade fire - neon bible: this is a pretty good album but after funeral its hard not to be disappointed, even if i was expecting less.

i can see radiohead not living up to expectations.

and metallica and GNR, well, they're a whole different story....

I think the Shins record has been unfairly treated on this board.

There are some fantastic songs on there - Sleeing Lessons, Phantom Limb, Turn on Me, Spilt Needles and A Comet Appears are all fine songs.

The production is a little synthetic at times but the songs are strong.

In 5 years or so once the hipsters have grown up and stopped using this record as an object to define their own cred it will held in higher esteem.

i agree with you that it has been unfairly treated and its not bad at all, my point was just that it didn't live up to my expectations. phantom limb, turn on me, australia, and comet appears are some of my favorite songs of this year. i think i just need to listen to it more, its been awhile.

I was also disappointed by the latest offering from Bloc Party and Air.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder

I actually dislike this album. Only a handful of songs are good, and most are just a waste of time. I am so let down by this album its difficult to express.
