I read that the new album is gonna be out in March. Does anyone know if Nick Oliveri is in or out of the band? I remember hearing awhile ago he left the band or Josh kicked him out, but I haven't really heard anything since.

NEW DEAL FOR MONDO GENERATOR!

NICK OLIVERI’s MONDO GENERATOR made a surprise return last night (November 30) with an all-star line-up.

The former Queens Of The Stone Age star is on tour with Mark Lanegan, performing solo acoustic sets. However, passing through Leeds Cockpit on Monday, Oliveri saw Leeds blues-metal two-piece Winnebago Deal and was so impressed he asked them to complete the new Mondo Generator line-up.

The new-line up, featuring Oliveri alongside the Deal’s Ben Perrier and Ben Thomas, made its debut at the Sheffield Leadmill last night, who Oliveri introduced as Winnebago Generator. After a show of Mondo songs – which the Bens had only learned at the soundcheck – they finished with the Queens’ ‘Tensionhead’.

Both parties are now keen to repeat the collaboration, with Oliveri and Mark Lanegan rumoured to be appearing in the next Deal video.

Mark Lanegan has been touring the UK with Oliveri and labelmates Oceansize, and Liverpool’s The Black Velvets. The tour rolls into Bristol Fleece and Firkin tonight, before concluding at London Astoria tomorrow.

Winnebago Deal’s debut album ‘Dead Gone’ is out now through Double Dragon.
