I downloaded Under The Table and Dreaming, Crash, Before These Crowded Streets, and The Lillywhite Sessions, and they all seem pretty good. it's definately aimed a bit at the frat crowd, but who cares. Just because much of their fanbase is obnoxious, it doesn't mean they are a bad band.

Grace is Gone, Grey Street, Don't Drink the Water, Rapunzel, Tripping Billies, I'm jumping around right now but i'm enjoying it.

Yeah I like them too, I have been listening to the song "Bartender" a lot lately.

"So Much To Say" off probably their best album Crash.

Haha...I remember having a discussion with my freinds who are very big fans of DMB about how annoying it is when the band is referred to as "Dave." What is even worse is that when they are talking about going to the concert, they will literally say something along the lines of "Are you going to Dave?"

But on the real...they are a talented bunch and you selected a fine group of albums to start off with. If you like their early stuff, you should check out Live at Red Rocks. Good stuff.

See I’m leaving
This warehouse frightens me
Has me tied up in knots
Can’t rest for a moment
Soom I’m going I’m slippin’ slow away
Hoping to find something better than
I’ve got inside of here
The warehouse slips away
Hey reckless mind
Don’t throw away your playful beginning
You and I will fumble around in the touches
And be sure to
Leave all the lights on
So we can see the black cat changing colors
And we can walk under the ladders
And swim as the tide turns you around and around
Hey we have found
Becoming one in a million
Slip into the crowd
This question if found in a gap in the sidewalk
Keep al lyour sights on
He the black cat changing colors
And you can walk under ladders
And swim as the tide choose to turn you
And here is it
Life goes on, end of tunnel, tv set
Spot in the middle
State fade, statistical bit
And soon I’ll fade away, I’ll fade away
This I admit
Taste so good, hard to believe an end to it
Smell touch feel
How could this rhythm ever quit
Bags packed on a plane
Hopefully to heaven
Shut up I’m thinking
I had a clue now it’s gone forever
Sitting over these bones
You can read in whatever you’re needing to
Keep all your sights on
Yeah man, the black cat
Changing colors
When it’s not the colors that matter
But that they’ll all fade away
This I admit
Seems so good
Hard to believe an end to it
Warehouse is bare
Nothing at all inside of it
Walls and halls have disappeared
My love I love to stay here
My love I love to stay here
In a corner was wondering
If a change could be better than this
And then I worry
Maybe things won’t be better than they have been
Here in the warehouse
At the warehouse
How I love to stay here
At the warehouse
Every man and woman
Get alive
That’s our blood down there
Seems poured from the hands of angels
But trickle into the ground
Leaves the warehouse bare and empty
My heart’s numbered beat
Still echoe in this empty room
Fear wells in me
But nothing seems enough to defend
So I am going away

I'm not a huge fan of their studio stuff, but Live at Red Rocks is awesome.

I like some of the songs, but am not a big fan of them overall. They'll never top Grace is Gone IMO.

I listened to Under The Table the other day and I really liked it. I hadn't heard it in many years. It definitely tails off at the end though.

It's really good for throwing on the player, smoking up with some friends, and then going out before the album is done. That's how I heard it mostly back when it first came out.

I also got the Live at Red Rocks album, and expected it to be great being that they are all about their live performances and it's at Red Rocks, and all that, but I didn't like it much at all. I thought it was pretty wanky, and that soprano sax is REALLY faggy, I've got to say. Lose that shit, Dave.

i've been listening to dave for a while since ive seen this thread, here it goes...

dave matthews band is one of my favorite bands ever. their first 3 albums are 3 of my favorite, their last 3 not so much. but thier first 3 studio albums, along w/ amazing live shows have pretty much made me a fan for life.

under the table and dreaming is one of my favorite albums ever. beggining to end i think this is the best album dmb has ever made. i dont think crash is as good front to back, but there are some tracks on crash that are some of the bands best (#41, two step, so much to say). i think before these crowded streets is a step above crash, but i dont like it as much as under the table. before these crowded streets is usually looked upon as dmb's greatest moment, and i understand why, but ill always like under the table better.

here is where dmb went wrong. everyday isnt even a dmb album. the entire album was written by dave matthews and glenn ballard and its entirely terrible. the best song on it was better when it was #36. busted stuff is better than everyday, its no where near the earlier stuff though. there are some stand out tracks, but there are some straight up bad tracks too. i think stand up is a disappointment. i heard 3 new songs they played live before recording this album and only one of them made the album. the two songs that didnt make the album are better than anything thats on it.

all this album talk is bullshit though. dave matthews band is should be heard live. they are one of the best live band ive ever seen and there live releases are great. i love live at red rocks (sorry dave), listeners supported is my favorite, and the show they did in central park is great too.

warehouse is seriously the best song ive ever heard in my life. everyone should go download a live version of it right now.

about their fans, ill never really understand the hate. i dont really get cought up in the scene thing w/ bands. i like their music and thats it. i will say that the girls who go to dmb shows are more than enough reason to put up w/ the frat idiots.

there you go cal.
