I recently purchaced "1 plus 1 is 1"...I don't know what made me pick it up, I never really even heard a BDB song before...Anyway, I listened to the album, not bad at all....reminds me alot of the Beatles/Lennon solo stuff...anyone a fan here? Could you give me some insight into them...what's there deal? What other albums are a must? I appreciate everything in advance...

Waxy,

I don't know anything about them, but I've heard they're good. Hope that helps.

Clark,

I recently discovered that its not really a band, but rather a singer/songwriter plot....Its really good, I bet you would like it.

Bob,

My old College Roommate, Shim Shibby, told me to get it way back a long time ago, but now, with no job, I can't buy any albums.

Glark,

There are always used cd shops...or you could ask your neighbor if you could powerwash his porch in exchange for some Badly Drawn Boy albums.

Danny Drawn Boy,

If I tried to pry the Power Washer away from Gustav he would hurt me in my eyeball. Needless to say I go to the record store down the street and look through everything for that "good find" and if I find a "good find" I buy the "good find" and worry about eating later.

I guess I can't say I'm a fan but I love the songs I've heard. I'm really starting to think about buying and album.

I've heard "Fewer Words" and liked it. Not that it really matters at this point in the thread.

I listen to it frequently, good stuff. The missus got a little randy one day when listening to it

I've got all his albums. I think Bewilderbeast is the best, followed by 1+1. The About A Boy Soundtrack is fantastic as well. Some great moments on Have You Fed The Fish, but I think it's lacking compared to his other work.

I got a chance to see him on his last tour and it was amazing. Small little venue. First set he just played 1+1 in it's entirety. Then came out for the encores playing from the rest of his albums. Show lasted nearly 3hrs. He's an unbelievably talented musician, a bit of an ass, and a great storyteller. He talked about his love for Bruce Springsteen and how he considered naming his son Bruce, but decided not to because "Bruce is a shit name."

all i know is he loves bruce springsteen and considers him his no.1 influence and like favorite artist...there was this one quote from him i liked...something like "It took me a long, long time to decide that I was going to be a songwriter myself, but 'Thunder Road' started the process."

At the show I attended, he must have given a good 10 minute story about his love for Bruce, his influence, and how he nearly flipped out the first time he met him. Good stuff.
