Do you fight all day long, all through the town, or both?

Guys, it's all through the town. And Moves Like Jagger is just awful. Awful. But too many people that I love and respect love that song for me to hold it against anyone. I just don't get it.

Well, like a lot of kids' songs, it's public domain, in different versions. But in England in the 1980s, it was 'all day long'. Which leads me to believe that I am, in fact, correct on this. Suck a bag of dicks?

I agree that you are correct in that you've been singing the wrong words since the 1980s, yes.

It's an anonymous children's folk song with no official lyrics.

This isn't about rhyming. "Round" and "town" aren't full rhymes. It sounds like it's been rewritten in an attempt to sound rhymey, by someone who didn't really know what they were doing. My wife just said she's been singing it 'wrong' since the late 70's.

Folk song? Circa the 1400's?

To me there is no doubt that somebody wrote this in very recent decades, and someone out there knows who it is.

No. It's anonymous and has hundreds of different variations across countries, languages and generations.

I know exactly who it is, and he's asked me to tell you that is absolutely "all through the town."

A quick search reveals that it's a variation of "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush", an English folk song from the 1800s.

Pfffft!

Absurd. Those songs are as similar as Given to Fly and Going to California.
