The Lonesome Crowded West maybe my favorite CD, but the opener from This is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To think About is my favorite Modest Mouse song. Sheer beauty.

i bought "moon & antartica." i listened to half of it, i hated it. some guy in the dark room called me a loser.

a year later, i put it in my cd player and almost fell on the floor. i loved it. i listened to it for days.

last week, i bought "good news..." it's barely been out of my cd player since. modest mouse makes me insanely happy for some reason.

Moon and Antartica is one of my favorite records. I wasn't into the last album as much, but the singles were really good.

i listened to The Moon & Antartica a while back but I didn't really think anything of it. I guess at the time I didn't really get it nor did I see what the big deal was. Then I listened to it last week and it immediately clicked and I realised what I had been missing out on.

I also had Good News... on my mp3 player for the past few months but never listened to it at all. Then one night I decided to try it and I loved it.

These guys are different from stuff that I had been listening to the past few months. It was like a breath of fresh air.

nice indie pop rock with horns and such with one of the most out of key singers of all time. It all seems to work out great though. If you listen to the radio at all I'm sure you've heard their "hits" Float On and Oceans Breathe Salty.

For 'Night on the Sun' alone, the ep Everywhere and His Nasty Parlor Tricks is worth it. The extended 'I Came as a Rat' is cool and 'You are the Good Things' is a treat.

I like a few of their songs, but not enough to spend $ on a CD.

I think you should get Oh lonesome crowded west next. It is my favorite by them.

Ugly Cassanova is pretty good stuff too.

You should also check them out live tickets for their american tour just went on sale recently.

Sure, he's no Celine Dion, but he's great. You can't hear him sing and think it's anyone else.
BTW, I don't think he's out of tune. It's just what it is.
And the albums are greater than the singles could ever reveal.

i can't dispute about the albums because i haven't listened to them...but justifying his voice by saying nobody else sounds like him still doesn't do it for me
