Ok...I know I saw a previous post about this, but I'm trying to make a really good, chill wilco mix. So far, this order is flowing well, but I wanted some suggestions. I left off I am trying to break your heart, kamera, pieholden suite, and misunderstood because they just didn't go with the flow of the mix. This will be a mix for people who have never heard wilco before, and will get frustrated if I put too much of the weird, noisy wilco...but I also don't want to make it boring.

Thanks!

1. How to fight lonliness
2. Via Chicago
3. Jesus, etc
4. Forget the Flowers
5. Sunken Treasure

6. Summer teeth
7. She's a jar
8. At least that's what you said
9. Poor Places
10. Reservations

Ive said this before, but Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the most moody and perfect atmospheric album Ive ever heard. I get a clear mental image of sitting in a highrise new york apartment, with yellow faded carpet and an old radio on, and its snowing outside, and the city is empty and this is just what Im hearing on the radio. This album gives me that beautiful melancholy feeling of winter, and the exact image of the apartment at the same time, and because of this, I will never break it up. It can't be done. Ive even proved it to myself. The other day I tried skipping around on tracks...nope. It lost it's magic and sounded empty. This is an album in the sense of album and not tracks. That's why I will never make a mix of YHF.

That being said, have you thought about "At least thats what you said"?

There was one song that got me to check out Wilco. It was that song.

ahhh...thanks, I had that as song #8, but for some reason wrote down less than you think.

I totally agree with you about YHF. However, it is still an album that requires a lot of thought and some work to REALLY get into. I think "how to fight loneliness" or something like that is a lot more easily accessible than "i am trying to break your heart" or some other things on YHF. I just don't think giving someone who doesn't listen to a ton of different music would really appreciate YHF, or even like it. I don't know if they'll even "get" poor places/reservations, but that just can't be left off.

They're damn good songs.

I love Muzzel of Bees. I think if you are making a "chill" wilco mix that would be a good one.

Muzzel of Bees makes me happy when i hear it. It gives me this warm image and feeling.
