Hailing from Champaign IL. Hum scored a hit with their song "Stars" from the album "You'd Prefer An Astronaut". My favorite record of theirs is "Downward is Heavenward" which contains what i feel is one of the best songs of the 90's in the opening track "Isle of the Cheetah"

So come... profess your love for an amazing indie rock band from the great state of Illinois.

Their last two albums are

so

good.

I guess it helps that I'm an elitist indy prick that happens to be a complete space-rock dork.

Space-rock ...er...rocks

Engine Down's album "NWODENIGNE" seems very Hum inspired to me. If you havnt heard it already, i always recomend it to folks that like Hum.

I love Hum and have both the above-mentioned records. It helps that I live in IL and they at least played them on college radio here. I think I may have seen their video for Stars only a few times.

Hum rules. No ifs and or buts. In my opinion, Little Dipper is one of the best songs ever. I mean, it could be better from a technical standpoint. But in terms of emotion, song writing, message, originality, Little Dipper is a great tune...along with just about every other Hum tune.

For those interested, I have some Pre Dih demo's.

I'm going to have the blow the dust of their albums soon! Hum was amazing. Saw them live, and it was amazing. They played a Police cover song, and 99% of the people there didn't even realize it.

Holy shit. I had no clue so many people liked Hum. Did they actually have a "hit" hit? I thought they were completely unheard of. Well...I have Downward is Heavenward and it's awesome, and a cool album name.

"Stars" did decently on alternative stations in the mid-90s.
