Yeah, I actually have to agree with that.

Seriously, with all the imagery that could be associated with an album title like that, how could the cover be so boring?

Well, people are bitching about it and all press is good press.

That cover is straight 80s. I find it odd that a band that big is putting a picture of themselves on the album cover and it's not a greatest hits or live release. But eh whatever, U2 can do whatever ever the hell they want.

They sure can, even ipod ads. Bastards.

I am more interested in the content than the cover!

I'm still pretending that didn't happen. It's easy for now since i haven't seen the ad.

That ad makes me giggle every single time I see it and I've seen it a lot.

War and Zooropa are the only U2 albums that don't have at least one member of the band on the cover.

If you think that is bad, wait until that cunt Billy Corgan releases his solo album. I'm sure it will include a dvd of him reading his poetry to 14 year old girls. + an 8 x 10 b&w glossy of his mug.

His coffee mug?

I wonder if Corbjin is still their principle photographer -- Anyone know?

Nice cover. The iPod ads already have me sick of the single though, unfortunately. I'm going to have to turn off the t.v. for a while so that the "promotion" doesn't spoil things for me. I really want to hear what exactly Steve Lillywhite worked on and how it turned out; although I'm not getting my hopes totally up because I'm still concerned about lack of lyrical "meatyness". I don't care for Interscope or how they pimp artists out (I miss the Island Records // Principle Management "personal" days where U2 had the option to NOT go to awards shows and stuff).

~sigh~

P.S. and Off Topic Rant/Vent: For some reason I personally resent Droppin Ordnance's comment about Billy Corgan and feel the need to defend him...... Who the heck says he's reading to 14 year old girls? He was in SF and NY last week, and he said the fans coming to the book signings and the readings were being totally cool -- a man who respects his fans is NOT a "c" word. That was totally rude and uncalled for; if you don't have an appreciation for someone elses work, be polite to those who do and keep your negativity to yourself. That was way out of line, in my book.
