No way. It's a solid post, but someone made the PJ/GNR comparison like 2 posts above that. Can't score it that high. 7/10 maybe.

i know its hip to rip on pearl jam here, but thats a terrible analogy. when did pearl jam "crumble under pressure", when they released no code? if that was the case id want them to crumble under pressure more often

I just thought it was funny is all.

I wish I could rate it over. I'd definitely downgrade to a 7/10.

its no rip to compare Ten to Appetite.

as far as most people are concerned its probably close. minus the goofy lead singer antics.

I think they might have been crumbling under pressure on No Code, but i agree they should crumble more often if thats the case.

Hollywood was a very different scene to come out of than Seattle back then, although both had their share of self-destructive tendencies. Seattle was way more of a grounded, tight-knit scene.

Increasingly, Slash seems like one of those guys who I wish would have wound up in a different genre of music--the guitar playing in songs like "Estranged" and "November Rain" and "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" is spot-on melodically, and he can make that Gibson fucking sing. I'd love to hear him record an entire instrumental record in that vein, with none of the wah-wah, shred-shred, etc. that occupied the rest of his time in GNR.

I DJ'd my way through High School... and well, this song was pre-wacko Jacko MJ... but reading your post totally reminded me of this song, which has some great melodic riffage from Sir Slash, really like the outro solo.

which got me thinking... how the fuck did Slash handle working with Axl and MJ at the same time period? talk about polar opposite nut jobs.

I got an idea, let's over-analyse pop culture on the internet.

I can't knock either album. They are two of my favourite records of all time.
Both of them are near-perfect in their own way.

HOpefully this is the beginning of the end for Axl and Stinsons relationship. Now Tommy can get back with Westerberg and make some real rock n roll..

A member of Guns N' Roses reportedly stormed off stage last week and wouldn't return for an encore, and it wasn't frontman Axl Rose.
The band was playing the final stop on their first tour of India last Wednesday in Gurgaon, just outside New Delhi.

The concert went off well, according to a New York Times review by Kabir Taneja, with Axl Rose taking the stage on time and the band playing a 3 hour set.

But the show apparently didn't end well. Taneja said that after the band returned to the stage for an encore, Rose thanked fans and told them that playing India "has been a longtime dream."

He then dedicated the concert to the memory of sitar legend Ravi Shanker who had died the previous day. The band then took their final bow.

At this point, Axl decided to play another song and called the group back on the stage but Tommy Stinson apparently did not want to. Taneja reports, "he was visible from where I sat nearly throwing his bass backstage, as a roadie tried to stop him."

The band began performing Rose Tattoo's "Nice Boys" without Stinson, when Axl left the stage only to return moments later followed by Stinson.

At this point, Stinson, " threw his bass onto a pile of equipment, flipped the middle finger at some crew members and left. The band finished the last song without a bassist."

You can read the full review of the concert here.
