i was thinkin about checkin out one of thier shows
My brother is really into them. He gave me some albums and live shows of theirs to try out. They sound a lot like Phish to me. Not really my style, but they seem to be good musicians.

if you're into the jam band scene (phish, GD, widespread, etc) then you will dig them.
i can get into it sometimes, and have heard some good shows. one in particular includes segues into sister christian and the darth vader imperial march. amazing.
they are hella-talented.

They are certainly incredibly talented musicians and they play very tightly as a band. But their music is SO busy. They're alot "rockier" than Phish and I think they're a heck of alot more talented (this is coming from a Phish fan) - vocally they leave alot to be desired, but when they're just playing music they're about as technically sound as you can get. I can't get into 'em, but if you like Jam Bands, you might like these guys.
These guys can be kind of a mixed bag. Archive.org has something like 750 shows of theirs available for download/streaming so there is plenty to check out. I've grabbed some shows from archive that have had some impressive moments on them, but by the same token, I watched an excerpt of their live DVD that is playing this month on Concert TV On Demand and found it kind of boring. Sometimes they just come off a bit corny, I guess? A little bit too white-bread for my taste. Probably ties into to what someone said earlier that their weakest point is their vocals. Talented musicians all, but their songwriting sometimes leaves something to be desired.
Anchor Drops is one of my favorite albums of the last decade. You should definately give it a listen. It has some great songs on it. The first four songs are pretty amazing, and they are not long jam songs at all, pretty solid rock songs.
I don't really care to see them again live, but they put on a killer show. Their last album was boring.

It's funny I just heard these guys for the first time this past weekend. They drew me in with the ...And Justice For All cover. They do an interesting and wide range of covers. Their stuff isn't too bad, but from the setlists I saw, I wanna see them now.
I started typing a tirade regarding my hatred of jam bands but realized everything I could say could be pretty accurately summed up by just quoting chud's post, so:
