Never gave these guys a chance but I'm listening to this album and it's scratching me right where I itch.
This is where I started at SK about 3-4 years ago. I never really dug the few earlier songs of theirs that I heard but this got a lot of rotation at my joint. Dig Me Out is also really strong and worth making your next SK listen if you go into the back catalogue.
Dig Me Out is good but I'd go for the two prior to The Woods. One Beat is a pretty amazing piece of artwork and features the incredible Light Rail Coyote.

Oh man, I can't explain how much I love "Light Rail Coyote." Just a fantastic, fantastic song.
I have "All Hands," "One Beat," and "The Woods." What's a good album to snag next?

My suggestion is to keep going backwards in time, so you should listen to The Hot Rock next. They're a band that got better with every album but even their early albums are outstanding. The Hot Rock =

they definitely got better with age, so working backwards is a good idea... and definitely find the Woods b-side "Everything" that song is awesome...
Wild Flag in 2 days for me...
That´s so nice! please can you post your thoughts after the show?
for sure, probably will search out the Wild Flag thread though
just re-mixed my 2cd mix with Janets bands (SK, WF, Quasi, the Jicks) and made a 3rd live one with the same 4 bands, + Hot Knives from the Bright Eyes on Letterman and a Bottle Up and Explode from Elliot Smith with Janet and Sam backing for the drive down.

I think this may be in my top 5 records....every single song on it is just fantastic to me, coupled with the fact that it was such a great sound and the right record at the right time for the band.

My top 3 are all pretty equal SK's The Woods PJ's Binaural NY's Mirrorball
the doors - the doors and Elvis - An Afternoon at the Garden probably my top 5... that Elvis album is still in billboards top 200, the CDs been out 15 years, a concert thats now 40 years old, and its still selling 2000 copies with no promotion...
