It might be their best song. Such a killer groove.

The amount of rocking out that occurred live at the "oh, dirty river" part has been rarely matched at other shows I've seen.

just after 2 mins in Light Rail, anyone else ever get the vibe of Hail Hail?

I always really dig the rocking out riff of Faraway but Light Rail Coyote is a beast too

MadTIGERmaN, do you rub the sides of popcorn bags and lick the salty butterdust off of your fingertips?

Sure. A fella could write volumes on the guitar tones on this record.

Sucks they broke up when they did. I would have liked to have seen them explore the denser sound/production of "The Woods" even further.

Yeah, this album does hold up well and it is definitely a shame that they broke up when they did. I remember reading about this album just before it came out (probably earlier in this thread even) about how difficult it was to record The Woods. The effort shows. The drumming, guitar playing, and singing are all top notch on this gem.

they didnt "break up"
its an indefinite hiatus...

and are all still friends

and Carrie and Janet are currently in "Wild Flag" together while Corins been doing a solo thing
but, Carrie said in an interview this year... its possible within the next couple of years... they could get back in the studio together.

oh and Carrie's also doing Portlandia on IFC which, is pretty damn funny

anyway

the Woods is fucking awesome, I still listen to this album every few weeks, and its one of the only albums (Neil Jam - Mirror Ball might be the only one i listen to more)

Entertain!

Jumpers is a great song. The story behind that track did my head in a little bit.

Thanks here. My favourite song on the album (and probably of S-K in general) and I had no clue.
