can you even see the tracklist? basically, it's the Hunger Games OST, which Glen has a song on, but he actually has 2..Maroon 5(yes, you did just read that) are covering one of his songs on the same soundtrack..
really bizarre..

Glen's got a solo record called Rhythm and Repose coming out on ANTI june 18/19
Glen Hansard will release his first solo album Rhythm and Repose on June 15th via Plateau records. Best known for his work with The Frames and The Swell Season, this will be Hansard's first new material since 2009's Strict Joy with The Swell Season.
The album, recorded and produced by Patrick Dillett and Thomas Bartlett, will also feature the musical talents of Brad Albetta, Ray Rizzo, Nico Muhly and half of Bruce Springsteen's current horn section. Swell Season collaborator Marketa Irglova has also contributed to the record.
Hansard is celebrated as the principal songwriter and vocalist/guitarist for The Frames. He garnered a reputation as not only an unparalleled front man, but also for his dedicated following and his grounded, real-life songs. Whether he’s busking the streets of Dublin, where he got his start, or at the Hollywood Bowl, Hansard is always earnest and in-the-moment.

Glen's new video is up. Glen Hansard 'Love Don't Leave Me Waiting' APRIL 17, 2012
In his new video, Irish musician Glen Hansard goes tropical, finding warm bliss and plenty of sunshine in the clip for "Love Don't Leave Me Waiting." Reveals director Heidi Rose, "It's like going out on a trip to an exotic island: It's summer, it's full of hope, it's exciting, it's alive, it makes you want to dance and sing along. That is what Glen's 'Love Don't Leave Me Waiting' feels like. We shared this feeling with a group of young men and women, who very spontaneously and generously got involved in the making of our video." The Swell Season member and Frames frontman will release his solo debut, Rhythm and Reponse, on June 19th through Anti-.
Nice..though I'm not too crazy about the instrumentation. For such a gifted guitarplayer and considering how guitarbased his gigs are, there's hardly any heard on both tracks that are out.

true. this album is a whole different thing though. Doveman pretty much produced it and the drummer from the National is on the kit. it's a different animal altogether and it took me a few days to get with it but i really think it's gonna be one that's remembered in the best way. I was gonna start a separate thread for it but there's two already and I don't think admin will like that there's three. And who'd really be interested anyways? The version of this song he was doing on the EV tour, he went big on. Meaning fuckin goin for it. The album is almost loungey, but i asked and the reasoning is that it leaves room to go big and he's basically in a much older calmer place now. it'll still go big live, just wait n see
there's an EP to follow(truly) after the album. And those songs are even better, can't understand why they're not on there but it's all clear once you hear em. This is a vinyl i'll happily buy
Overcoat says: "Thanks for checking out the Love Don't Leave Me Waiting video. You can now find the song on iTunes for download."

Yeah, at the shows I saw last year I heard quite a few of the new songs. I loved those versions. I really do like Philander and LDLMW, was just amazed at the chosen way to record. It took a few spins to get my head around it. The explanation makes sense, and I like having a completely different experience than the live version. Could you divulge if Pennies in the Fountain is on the EP?

pennies(pantis haha) is on there far's i know but that could change any time. I'm loving the record but the EP is even better just in that it's more in tune with what i expect? or perhaps it's more accessible? 'cos the record is a mother of a curveball...it's a beauty, really is.
Vinylguy...so i heard. the boots are great but that's hardly the same. Ah well...i seen him before
