Okay, I dig Fugazi but don't own any of their discs. So if I want to get the "definative" Fugazi disc, which one is it?

Educate me.

There's no "definitive" album. Go in order. Get 13 Songs. Like, now.

At my local "indy" shop, there's an employee suggestion section. 13 Songs has a sticker on it that says "If you own this, buy it again. If you don't, it's time to get educated, motherfucker."

Seriously, get them all. In order. Cos each one fucking rules.

Agreed. The Argument is my favorite right now.

That album really shows their diversity and intelligence as musicians. And to think people I know pissed and moaned when that album came out because it "wasn't Fugazi." I told them to give it another chance and they all eventually converted and love the album. 8)

imo, 13 Songs is probably the definitive album if such a thing exists, but having said that, my favourite is The Argument.

My favorite Fugazi album changes more often than the weather. One week it's Red Medicine, the next Repeater, the next The Argument, the next In On The Killtaker...just buy them all, man.

And then order a few shows from their live series. 8)

If you dont think they have pissed liquid gold poured by jesus into the ears of the saints you should give it another gander, quintessential.

i loved 'cashout' but was a little disappointed with 'the argument' after hearing so many people singing its praises.

i guess it will grow on me.

"Great Cop" from In on the Kill Taker gets me worked up like no other. The begining of that song is just so explosive.

I grew up with In on the Kill Taker so its my sentimental favorite, but End Hits and The Argument are amazing too.

Don't get your hopes up...they're all involved w/ separate things at the moment. Who knows if they'll ever reconvene.

In reference to End Hits being mentioned, it's fantastic, too, if only slightly behind some of the other albums. Caustic Acrostic is probably one of my top ten Fugazi songs, and Arpeggiator is one of the coolest instrumentals ever recorded.
