http://www.spin.com/articles/sxsw-dinos ... old-school

Nice new article in spin talks about the new album coming out this june and a bit about the tour. Lou mentions it has a bit of a more "old school" feel then beyond did.

"It has an urgency," Barlow says of the album, expected in June. "Right away I knew it was superior to Beyond."

How did they restore the original vibe? Barlow points to the tight deadline for the forthcoming effort: The group met in Mascis' home studio in Massachusetts in November and immediately had a February target for completion. This constraint, says Barlow, instilled a collective respect for their time together -- something they lacked when recording Beyond.

"Beyond was the first time I'd actually seen us throw stuff out [of the sessions]," Barlow says. But with the recent sessions the band didn't dilly-dally; they recorded and refined all, and only, their 14 demos, including two covers -- "Houses," by '70s folk rocker Elise, and a Zombies song called "Whenever You're Ready."

We'll see i was very impressed with Beyond if the new album is better then that is great news!

New tune sounds great. Going to see them at the end of April.

Can't fucking wait. In the last year or two, these guys have been steadily climbing my list of favourite artists. If there's a Canada date this SUmmer (specifically Toronto), I might consider a road trip.

Disagree, but they're both good albums.

It is tough to put together a mix tape to touch on all their stuff.

On December 1, Dinosaur Jr. will celebrate the 25th anniversary of “You’re Living All Over Me” at Terminal 5 in New York City. The band will play the album in its entirety followed by a second set spanning their catalog with very special musical guests joining them onstage. We’re excited to announce that Dale Crover of (the) Melvins will join the band for a song or two. Already announced are Johnny Marr, Kim Gordon and Al Cisneros, and more special guests will be announced.

Fuzzy audio, but The Boy with the Thorn in His Side w/ Johnny Marr on lead guitar and Dale Crover of the Melvins on drums!

:D
