I listened this afternoon to Beyond and it really kicks some major ass. It would be a really good choice to listen to this piece, Cono.

Back To Your Heart from Beyond is still one of the best 10 songs of the decade.

The only thing that Green Mind really has going for it is that iconic cover art.

Really?

Little mellow compared to the rest, but I like it.

Green Mind has nowhere near the rawness and intensity of their first 3 records. You're Living All Over Me is one of the greatest records ever made.

I won't argue that, YLAOM is my fave. Green Mind is a more conventional and accessible record, but it has more going for it than just the cover art, no?

YLAOM is definitely my favorite as well, but right now I'm crazy into 'Out There' off Where You Been.

if i had to introduce anyone to dinasour jr, beyond would probably be the album. doesn't have the lofiness of you're living all over me, which i love. I'm a lo fi fan. but beyonds songwriting and guitar playing is so solid throughout. you can't get any better guitar playing than on we're not alone and pick me up and the first song and some others

I think the guitar work on "On The Way" from Where You Been is among the best I've ever heard by anyone. I can listen to that song over and over and over again in loop.

Nearly a year on and I'm still blown away with how good this album is.

damn, Beyond is really fucking good. You're Living All Over Me is good too, but it didn't click right away as Beyond did.

So anyone heard J's new songs that are on itunes?

A cover of leaving on a jet plane and a b side from i guess 2001 or something called too hard.

THe reviews on itunes make it sound like it is horrible. People even saying "i'm a big dino fan... etc etc but this sucks"

i've liked almost everything J has done, but if it is that bad i won't get it. Anyone else heard this yet?

thanks,

I was only just recently listening to and marvelling at J.'s work on Maggot Brain, which is essentially him soloing on Mike Watt's Ballhog Or Tugboat? for twelve minutes.
