A high demand ticket is going onsale this Saturday (Widespread Panic's 25th Anniversiary show at a 2000 seat venue) and I was looking for some help.
When Pearl Jam has done there online sales before and I've been shut out, I've read online people talking about some insider info on purchasing online. Is there a certain browser I should use or is it all about connection speed and luck?
I'm using firefox and I'm not chaning my DSL line to the fastest just for this purchase, but if you have any advice I'd appreciate it.

Be persistent and fight the urge to hit refesh when the page is taking forever to load.

You on panicfreaks?
I am. Rumstar is my handle.
I missed out on the "foundation members" presale, but I don't know if I would have pulled the trigger on that kind of money anyway.
Saw Gov't Mule at the Classic Center in 2002 and loved it. I really want to see one of these Panic shows there. Are you on panicfreaks?

If it's ticketmaster or live nation, make sure you've got an online profile set up with your cc info and you're logged in before the sale. Be careful with refesh. Sometimes those sites will block you out if you refesh too many times while waiting for the "more info" link to become "find tickets." I try to never hit back or refesh. I'll click the band name to get the list of dates, then click more info (which usually shows you the price and says when tickets go on sale), then click the band name again to get back to the dates, "more info", band name, "more info", etc. until "more info" turns into "find tickets". When "more info" becomes "find tickets" the link doesn't actually change, it's all internal. So, it's possible to actually hit "more info" at exactly the right time to be taken to the ticket purchase screen.
Do a couple of dry runs on shows that are already on sale, so you know exactly what to expect. For example, know when you finally click "find tickets" that you're going to a page with a dropdown for how many tickets you're buying and then onto the word verification. Take your time with the word verification. Lots of people rush that, misspell it and lose valuable seconds having to try again.
Re-reading this, it seems kinda confusing but just take the time to get familiar with the ticket selling site a few minutes beforehand and it should all start to make sense.

Nice, I wish I could afford to take the trip down there to catch those shows.
