Some people think the Shins are the best band in the world. Is this hype or the truth?

good band to see live in a smaller venue - nothing altogether riveting, but a good sounding, ejoyable and pretty chill show nonetheless.

I saw them in a small room and they were pretty upbeat, joking between each song, swapping instruments, stuff like that. They all thought they were comedians.

Yeah, but they were talking all over each other. Every one of them wants to be frontman, I think.

They have a few songs that I like a lot, but overall, they bore me.

i own the first but have never given it a proper listen. i like the second. i just never feel the urge to listen to it beyond 'i need some fun background music.' which is fine, it's just limited. i got the third but don't know when i'll give it a listen. eventually.

If you think it's bad where you are, imagine how ridiculous the hype is here in their hometown. I don't even need to buy their albums anymore, because I know I'll hear them in their entirety at any given coffeeshop in the city.
