I am playing a solo acoustic show at a friends cafe/restaurant next week and just want to get some new ideas for songs to play. I already do a lot of Ryan Adams, Pearl Jam, and Kings Of Leon... I also do some Neil Young... I'm a fan of 90's alt and indie rock, 80's indie, 70's punk, 60's psych... im going to be doing
"That's When I Reach For My Revolver" and "Alex Chilton" and "Glad Girls" for the first time.. anyways any lists of songs that you might have heard someone do in the past and liked a lot or ones u think would be cool to see would help a lot, thanks guys!

tom waits - cemetery polka, would make a great acoustic cover, though it may take some work to arrange

What is the crowd like there?

Tom Petty seems to go over well with most.

I find when my friends play songs they like at places most crowds are like... huh?

Usually have to stick to mainstream type stuff folks have heard.

you should turn a rap song into a nice little hippie jam song and be really cool.

the place im playing is pretty cool, it has kind of an Asian (India) vibe to the atmosphere... they get a very eclectic, younger crowd mostly but also a few older people pop in from time to time... I think i will be good playing songs people know mixed in with some songs that are great that no one has ever heard before... great ideas so far though thanks a lot guys...
