Not famous, respected. The man is absolutely incredible. The sounds he can get out of nothing more than an acoustic guitar and an amp are mind blowing.

As for the original topic, there are some SBD shows available, mostly from 93-94, however I don't have any myself and I can't think of any in particular. I've always wanted a SBD copy of an 03 show, but I haven't came across one yet. I'm a pretty big collector of Dave stuff, especially D&T shows, so if I come across one in the next week or so, I'll post here.

As for the official relases, outside of the official Live at Luther College show, you should look for the Some Devil bonus disc (the 9 track Warehouse version, of course). You can get this on Oink.

tim reynolds plays a bar by me every once in awhile, hes coming again soon... (bugs, the jazz cafe... you should go)

he's an animal live. once he was very metal sounding, once he did these hallucinogenic type jams. i guess he has all kinds of different styles.

I used to collect a lot of Dave and Tim shows. There are incredible audience recordings of 3/28/03 and 3/29/03 if memory serves me correctly. 3/29 is the best audience recording I've ever heard. They could be released officially. They are also some pretty good dvds of those shows out there.

Try to find the SF show from 1997 with Bob Weir. It's a SB recording and is incredible.

definitely incredible. although to be fair, he does have a lot of help from his line 6 delay in addition to his guitar and amp...

i saw him do an acoustic show once, and an electric show once. the guy is ridiculously talented and creative.

D'oh! Forgot about that one. If anyone wants an example of this particular sound, listen/watch Tim do Warehouse (he gets going about 45 seconds in):

Ah, very cool. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Some of the sound quality of the recording of the recent Euro shows are also extremely solid.

http://www.liog.org - You can listen to pretty much every Dave show.
