Anyone else get this?

It is frickin' good. Pleasantly suprised - he has formed a really great band and created his finest solo work. Check it out fans of Zep.

It's a really bland album. Nothing bad about it, but nothing notable either. It just kind of sits there. There are no standout tracks, it's just a bunch of bare vanilla backing tracks and Plant singing Plant lyrics.

I suppose it's impressive if you go in thinking "Man, Robert Plant is really old, how could he make anything listenable?" and then you hear it, and you are suprised that it is mildly pleasant.

I think it's a fine album. I've been thinking about starting a thread about it myself. Shine It All Around is damn addictive!

I bought it the day it came out because "Shine it all Around" is so good, I figured if the rest of the cd was half as good, it'd be great.

Eh, it's good. I was kind of disappointed, but it's still Plant. It's better than alot of stuff on the radio.

I have since come to love this album. "The Enchanter" is one of the coolest songs I've heard in a really long time. This album gets better with every listen.

I agree, and it's the main reason why I got the album, as well. It's got a great mix of different Zeppelin sounds with a nice modern edge, and the guitar sound is great, too. I haven't listened to it in a long time, though, but the rest of the album is great as well, probably his best work post-Zeppelin.

is it kind of comparable to david gilmour's on an island?
i bought that thinking i was going to get something other than mellower rehashed pink floyd...but i didn't.
although some of the more jazzier songs surprised me (even though the floyd had jazz elements to begin with)

I haven't listened to this in awhile but I did really like it. I'm gonna throw it on for a listen again.

Wow. I said that almost two years ago.

It's still a great song, but I haven't listened to the album much in awhile.
