My top 5:
1. Radiohead (TBA)
Why? The new material sounded just fantastic live. Oh, and they've got one hell of a track record.
2. Wolf Parade (TBA)
Why? APOLOGIES TO THE QUEEN MARY was one of the best debuts in years. The new tune 'Things I Don't Know' they've been playing live should be a hint for even better things to come.
3. White Stripes (ICKY THUMP)
Why? Their minimalist approach has brought back the coolness of garage-rock adorners better than any other rock outfit. With a name like ICKY THUMP you know this one's gonna be a scorcher.
4. M.I.A. (KALA)
Why? Her debut, ARULAR, was sophisticated (and damn catchy) beyond years and experience. It's the music I always dream of running into--unique, satisfying, and smart.
5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs (TBA)
Why? The jump in songwriting and confidence between their debut and sophomore effort was staggering. Can't wait to find out where they go next.

with all the love for the new b.r.m.c. album around here, why hasn't anyone mentioned it here yet? according to amg it doesn't come out until may 1st. i've avoided the pig/leaks, but will most likely be picking it up when it comes out.

Not counting Radiohead, since who knows when that'll be out:
Björk - Volta (5/08/07)
Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris (6/12/07)
The New Pornographers - Challengers (August)
The Fiery Furnaces (TBA)
And all those Sigur Rós releases coming, along with whatever Silver Mt. Zion manages to release this year.
