Kinda looking forward to seeing these guys in 2 weeks.
I'm pondering driving to Starkville in a few weeks to see them with Neko and Phosphorescent. Long drive, but i could use a road trip.
*Oh, it's in T-town. My friend from S-ville got me confurzed.
Yeah that's the one I'll be attending. It's actually a benefit concert for the storm damage in Tuscaloosa.
i saw wilco in birmingham for an all-purpose alabama benefit show
Link?
I'm seeing Wilco in Nashville in October.
i saw them in nashville, too. twice.
there was no online presence for the wilco birmingham show, which was intentionally done in the spirit of the benefit for those stricken with alabama citizenship
Once again, I ask you for a link to said show. Link?
I've seen them in Huntsville and Birmingham. Will be in the balcony for their show at the Ryman.
illiteracy was among the many ills addressed by the benefit show

If you want to be somewhat surprised at the setlist for whatever show you'll be attending....don't look at the recent setlists as they very rarely change it up.

Enjoyed the Columbus show the other night. They are such a great, cohesive band... and Jim J is ... awesome.
3rd time seeing them at this venue (outdoors, but small and intimate).
My ONLY complaint is that they have momentum issues with their setlists. 4-5 awesome, upbeat momentum builders, then 3-4 slow songs (in a row) that suck the air out. They always get the momentum back, but it's just a pet peeve of mine, especially given their awesomeness. (Eddie could probably help Jim with this issue)
I love LOVE the Run Thru coda thing they do. It is so sweet. Magheeta was awesome with a breakdown jam in the middle - not one of my favorite songs, but it was one of my favorites this time.
I think it's totally lame and pretty pointless. That part isn't that cool without build up of the tune. Really the low point of both shows I seen. I don't think it fits that well. I'd rather them play something else, the whole thing or just skip it. Smokin>Touch Me 2 is fine the way it is anyway.

I understand what you mean, but i dont necessarily agree. From my experience, they do this purposefully. Tjhey go 0-60 in their first two songs and keep it up through the first third of the set, slow in the middle down and play their ballads (golden, the way he sings, steam engine, etc), then rev it up again and usually blow the roof off with the end of the set. The encore has the same pace as the first third of the set with the usual finale of OBH. in my opinion its a good way to do it.

funny...when i saw them last year or 2 years ago, they played OBH first.
I saw them earlier this year and they used OBH towards the end, but prior to that the other 4 times i've seen them they always played it early in the set. Never opening i would lvoe to see them open wiht it
Usually played in 4-6 in the setlist somethign like that.

I just got back from seeing these guys (sorta) in Bangor, Maine. Patrick, the drummer, apparently ate some Lobster this afternoon and had an allergic reaction to it and could not play the show. The band played about a little over an hour as a foursome with no drummer. Pretty cool to see I must say.

Did someone else fill in later for a drummer or did Patrick come back later to finish the show? They played longer than an hour, right?

I was there too, right on with the highlights, though I'd add Don't Touch Me pt 2 and OBH. Easily one of the best shows I've seen. Was also pleasantly surprised at how great the new album sounded.
