Seems to be about listening to music and music opening up someone's mind. This line really struck me:

And singing
Illuminate the main streets
And the cinema aisles
We don’t care about no government warnings
‘bout their notion of a simple life
And the dams they are building

Is the song about internal problems within the Asian community? Asian youngsters trying to free themselves from how people are trying to bring them up, and in England at that?

I thought it was just some obscure song the narrator was obsessed with.

Asha Bosley is an Indian actress or something. I dunno if that's the right spelling of the last name though.

Those lyrics are excruciatingly average at best, and I fail to see how they have anything to do with asians. Also, "listening to music and music opening up the mind" is about the vaguest concept possible - I think 99.9% of music in the history of history is meant to do that. Further, what does it matter what the song is supposed to be specifically talking about? If you can't tell from reading the lyrics, then it obviously either wasn't specific enough or the artist is an idiot for thinking he can portray a specific semantic meaning with vague and bland poetry. Further, I can't imagine why racial norms for Asians would be any worse in England than they would be in any other civilized caucasian country.

So you don't like the song then

To answer your question I think the band are English

My girlfriend's great uncle wrote songs for her and did a few albums with her.

It's apparently on the 45 and has something to do with using boobs as pillows.
