I never really see anyone talking about hardcore bands around here, so i figured i'd try to spark up some conversation. If you are ignorant and say "they all sound the same" please go educate yourself before replying.

My favorite hardcore / metal albums
Botch - We Are The Romans
These Arms Are Snakes - Oxeneers or The Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home
Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity
Norma Jean - Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child
The Blood Brothers - Burn Piano Island, Burn!
Mastodon - Remission
The Chariot - Everything's Alive, Everthing Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead And Nothing Is Bleeding (They also have the GREATEST song title of all time called "Someday, in the event that mankind actually figures out what it is that this world revolves around, thousands of people are going to be shocked and perplexed to find out that it was not them. Sometimes this includes me.")

I'm not a big fan but i have a friend who is and he tries to pass on music he thinks would bring me towards the dark side so to speak.

He gave me Mastodon's Leviathan album its kinda cool. i have ahard time getting into the vocals but the musicianship is really good i think.

I kinda like this one:

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/growl.shtml

But seriously: I occasionally hear a decent enough song, but not often.

I can't say as though I am a fan of a lot of 'real' hardcore bands, but I do like some hardcore tinged, or hardcore influenced bands like Helmet & Shootyz Groove

Can't believe I left Minor Threat off my way-too-brief list.
