Has anyone ever seen The Evens live? I'm seeing them tonight. All I really know about them is that they're a two peice and Ian Mackaye is one of the two so I figure I can't go wrong...and the show is only $8.00!

I've heard of them, never seen them live. Ian MacKaye is a nice man, in touch with the audience so you can chat a little after the concert. I"ve only seen him with Fugazi.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

I went with my girlfriend to see them this year...it was a very good show!!
they play acoustic but their songs are pretty rockin..ian of course is a great singer and frontman and the drummer amy farina is one of the best drummers around... better than meg white, she also sings very good.
i hope they make another record because they are good.
i also have the bootleg from the show.

The Evens, a duo featuring Ian MacKaye and Amy Farina, have two full-length albums, released in 2005 and 2006 on Dischord Records. In 2008 the band took a break as Ian and Amy took time to tend to family matters. In 2011 The Evens began rehearsing regularly and entered Inner Ear Studios with Don Zientara in August to record two tracks, "Warble Factor" and "Timothy Wright." The band plans to record a full-length in 2012 and will begin playing regular dates as well.

Cool news.

Amy really shines in the new one, specially in Wonder Why, there are some really grooving moments there.

Only a couple of listens in, but I love it so far. Pretty much love anything Ian touches.
