Ireland On-Line reports that former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash considered suicide after watching Axl Rose record his vocals at the band's final recording session. "I was suicidal. If I'd had a gun with me at that time, I probably would have done myself in," the current Velvet Revolver guitarist admitted. "If I'd had a half-ounce of fu**ing heroin with me, I probably just would've gone. It was heavy. It was a headspace I'd never been in before. Somehow I managed to go back to sleep. Then, when I woke up later that morning, I made a decision. I felt the whole weight of the world drop."

I don't like this "has been" business. Is a band only allowed to be around for so long? Should pj have stopped by now? Should pf have never done wish you were hear, pigs on the wing, mother, the final cut, on the turning away and coming back to life? Should we just get into whatever new band is fashionable to be into?

I can't stand comments like this. Some people might feel suicidal when they hear his stupid "solos" over and over again. So what, he can play fast. Big Deal. The 80s are over.

Pearl Jam are hardly living in the 90s. Try to compare Binaural to anything they did in the 90s. If they kept releasing Ten and Vs again every time around, then they would be living in the 90s.

Slash is simply one solo played over and over again, at different speeds, for the last 2 decades.
I think that goes for Mike McCready more so than Slash. I think Slash is the better and more exciting player of the two.
Let the flaming begin!
I can kind of agree with this, but only in live shows. I really think the solos on the albums are quite different from one another and suit the songs, not McCready's ability/desire to play wicked fast.

Axl Rose is one of the best, most distinctive singers,He should be suicidal after hearing Scott Weiland sing.
Axl doesn't have the best voice, but it suit's GN'R's music. But to say that Weiland can't sing is just stupid, and you probably wrote it only to provoke people anyway.

For once, I agree with you.
And for the McCready v. Slash argument let me just state at least Mike experiments with different tones and pedal effects regardless of its the same chords, Slash is too lazy to bother with that. I swear to god every one of his licks is a derivitive of what ill coin the "November Rain Syndrome" (refer to the new velvet revolver album).
