I like the songs where vocals are prominent.

"For Reverend Green" is fantastic.

I know the hype is kind of at a boiling point right now, but I'm comfortable in saying that Strawberry Jam is most definitely a top 10 album of this year.

SO many good songs

I really don't have a problem with them being more popular. In fact I don't really give a shit.

The thing that is kind of bothering me though is that I'm not sure if it's real or not. I mean, do so many people actually like their music, or is it more of a kind of strange, indie trend or fashion? Their music definitely does not strike me as something that would be very widely popular, I think it probably has much more to do with their strangeness and aesthetic that makes people "like" them.

I could be wrong. Am I?

I'm sure some people legitimately like them, but I think a large portion of those people like the strangeness about them. I will say, that while I don't really care for Animal Collective, I loved Panda Bear's Person Pitch. It took quite a few listens to get into, but that album's like the Brain Wilson on acid.

That's what I was gettin' at. What a boring performance and flat-out retarded song choice. I was interested in seeing them on Conan since the most I'd ever actually seen of the band was short, compressed concert snippets.

They currently are my favorite band, and yes, I legitimately love their songs. I think it's great that they are making the music they are making w/out it being "mainstream". They collaborate well, and thankfully they don't have any songs that sound the same.
They do have their moments live, I haven't seen them yet but from what I've seen on youtube they are either spot on or just terrible. I think that goes for a lot of bands, Pearl Jam included.
#1 was a terrible choice... when I found out what they were playing, I didn't even stay up for Conan.
