I've really been enjoying I Think I Can. It sounds like Panda took a lot of the same ideas from Person Pitch and colored them black and purple.

I know I'm the only one, but Strawberry Jam is still my favorite album.

For Reverend Green could be my favorite animal collective song.

I've always enjoyed Strawberry Jam too. It was my introduction to AC. Chores, Fireworks, Reverend Green, Derek, etc. are songs I would put on any AC mix. For Reverend Green might contain some of my favorite vocals from Avey, and I love the guitar. Is it the same technique the Smiths used for How Soon is Now?

You know what else is great from that era? Street Flash. :luv:

Chores is definitely one of my faves. I'm giving street flash a spin, i've never heard it before.

"Safer." ought to have replaced "Cuckoo Cuckoo" on the record.

always been a big fan of "Fireworks" and "Derek," but Strawberry Jam was a bit uneven in the end, I think.

Safer is a great track. I'm not sure it would fit on Strawberry jam though. It seemed to point more towards MPP.

i'm listening to "my girls" right now. hmm not really feeling this in any way. it doesn't help that i hate claps in songs (it almost even hurts john mellencamp when he does it).

I seldom revisit any of their albums. I was in such a different head space when I overloaded on this band. At one point, they could have recorded the band coughing, looped it, and I would have bought it.

However, there's some solid gold in their catalog that still hold up for me. Most of what they do best contains the following: Acoustic guitars, harmonies, unpolished production, and rhythm. When these four elements combine, some of the prettiest songs I've ever heard have happened. Sung Tongs has these sort of things in spades, and I still listen to it from time to time.

RIP :peace:

I like that a lot. I still feel a total stranger to this band, even though I have 3 of their records. I'm kind of intimidated by them.
