Chud :/

9 studio albums and these guys still sound fresh. They continuously shift their sound and with brilliant results.

They're pretty in love with themselves for a band that's very close to sucking.

So does Fall Be Kind sound like MPP at all? IT seems like the three most recent EPs sounded a lot like their preceding albums, with the exception of People. That one sounded a lot more open and atmospheric than Feels did.

FBK makes MPP seem like a warm-up.

Like "just kidding y'all lol. Here it is really"

I can't really imagine that to be true. That's probably just first-night-the-EP hyperbole talk, Liz.

p.s. how do I download this thing?

I'm really enjoying these tracks as much as anything on MPP

How dare you.

Don't ruin this moment for me, Reid. AC are one of the few things that make me happy these days.

Sung Tongs is absolutely the best thing they have ever done. I don't like Feels as much as MPP though. MPP flows and convulses and is basically one long experience. Compared to that, Feels seems like really great music, but still just music.

Well, they somehow managed to take every element of MPP that I love and condense it into an EP. This is very good.

Tell me about WWIWS. There's Avey on the vocals, but it sounds very much like a Panda track. What's going on here? Who wrote this one?

MPP really feels transformative, comparatively speaking. Adding all the electronics and beats was a huge leap ahead for them, Strawberry Jam mostly felt too transitional although it has some moments. Still I think the songs on Feels are just better, MPP has nice little pop moments and the vocals are way up in the mix, but a lot of them feel like throwaways. The lyrics are basically the same but Feels and Sung Tongs just felt charmingly weird and unique, MPP is just too earnest for me. But again I liked Feels more because it was a different time in my life and all that too.

This new EP might be their best EP yet, at least their best since Prospect Hummer (which is one of my all time favorites).

Still I really like MPP and it will be in my top 5 albums of the year. I was kind of unhappy with what they did to some of those songs in the studio though, Guys Eyes for example is an exhilarating jam live, on the album it just sounds like a nice pop song. Taste and My Girls, I think, are just exquisite though.

I'm curious about what brought y'all to that conclusion.

It is pretty forward-thinking music, very few bands are sounding like them. So go eat a dick.
