I've had Beautiful Freak laying unplayed in my collection for at least 10 years now. Should I go ahead and dust it off soon?

Hmm. between that and "Little Bird," I don't know how much I'm going to enjoy this album. "Things The Grandchildren Should Know" pretty much satiates my hunger for any of E's I'm-old-and-shit ballads, and from End Times or whatever it's going to be called we have two pretty interchangeable variations on that theme. Oh well.

Hombre Lobo still kicks my ass.

And a month on, yes, Reid, you really ought to dust off Beautiful Freak, because that record fucking rules.

I like these songs more than most of Hombre Lobo. Though my not loving the album may be a result of it following blinking lights. that's a hard act to follow.

Blinking Lights more or less eliminates any need I have for other post Electro-Shock Blues, save for HL. Maybe not as "classic" as the first two Eels records, but it's his magnum opus, I'd say.

Listening now.

"She locked herself in the bathroom again, so now I'm pissing in the yard"

great line.

listening now...

i'm having a similar reaction to hombre lobo. i'm not digging the reverb on this album, its distracting. i need a mother where i'm on now. i dig it.

Hey guys. I only really know Beautiful Freak and I love it. I'd like to know more. My local indie record shop has all their records. Please tell me which one to get next.

So I'm finally really sitting down with the new album. I like it quite a bit. Stand-outs so far: Unhinged, Gone Man, and I Need a Mother.

I had to bump this thread. End Times is such an amazing album. It was one of my top three from all of last year. A Line in the Dirt is strikingly beautiful. I listened to it almost every day for a couple of months during the last summer/fall. I just pulled it out after a break and I am so in love with it again.

Hombre Lobo was really good too, but it just doesn't have the soul that End Times has.

Tomorrow Morning just came out. I have only given it a once through so far. Hard to say what I think at this point. That is all for now.
