Tried 5, decided it was impossible, now here we are.

Boris
With Teeth
Night Goat
Sacrifice
A History of Bad Men
Let It All Be
Hog Leg
If I Had An Exorcism
Joan of Arc
Annum

Fuck, even this is near impossible. I love this band.

Shit, this is tough and i'm only intimately familiar with maybe half of their albums. I need to listen to the Melvins more.

I have no idea how to do that, but if I did, I would put them in this order:

1. Boris
2. Hog Leg
3. Annum
4. Let It All Be
5. Joan of Arc
6. Night Goat
7. Sacrifice
8. A History of Bad Men
9. If I Had An Exorcism
10. With Teeth

Mind you, I haven't actually heard the transitions. I'm just going off what I remember. I'm gonna try to make this.

I was this close to putting "AMAZON" and "Honey Bucket" on my list. And "Copache". Fuck, they have so many great songs!

Man, I'm listening to Lysol for the first time in a while. This is such an awesome album and all the songs on it are great. This thread is pretty much worthless because most of their stuff is equally amazing.

Fuck this thread. I probably couldn't even narrow it down to 25, really.

I'm not sure where to find the Germs cover, it's slower than the original and has this doom feel going on, it's great.

...

Damn I really need to get Lysol and the early stuff, I've mostly heard the mid-nineties stuff plus the albums from Ipecac label.
What are the essential early records?

And I'm sooo bitter that they cancelled their show with Tomahawk here!! It's easy for you US people, the bands basically live in your backyard.. :D

Bullhead and Lysol are absolute must-owns.

I've decided to also make this thread where we can talk about anything Melvins-related.

Hilarious German interview with Buzzo and Dale:

Listened to Honky for the first time today. I think "Lovely Butterfly" might be an instant top 10 song. It sounds like they're trying to kill you with sound.

honky is a great album, but it took me a while to figure that out. i love some of the more pink floyd moments on there -- "pitfalls in serving warrants," in particular. great production on that one. plus, it's got mark d, who i think was their best bassist.
