I've been looking for a while now.

I've had these 2 on my eye.

Technics SL-1200 MK2

and

Marantz 6100

Both seem like good players. I want to purchase one by the end of this week. I've found them both. Prices are decent. Is one better than the other? Anyone have either of these players?

Just a last minute run through.

Thanks.

I don't know anything about Marantz turntables? Are those for audiophiles?

I can't say anything bad about the Technics 1200s. The radio station I worked at had them and they've pretty much reached industry standard in the DJ scene.

I don't know about their turntables, but everything else Marantz makes is really good.

The Technics is brand new. 365. No shipping. Very sharp.

The Marantz has been completely restored. And it looks vintage, which I like alot.

God dammit.

I am new to the turntable/vinyl thing. I had a question. My neighbor gave me a 1979 Dual CS506. I looks like it's in really nice shape (needs a stylus). Does anyone know about these? He mentioned it was a good player when it came out. He does not have the manual. Are there some tricks you need to do to balance the arm, etc. Any information will be helpful.

thanks

Steve
