1 or 2 is probably the most accessible place to start if you are an Explosions in the Sky fan. One of my all-time favorite Sonic Youth songs, Tremens, can be found on SYR 1.

Listening right now. Now I know I have to check out more of this stuff.

Thanks.

No problem. When you're waist deep in Slaapkamers Met Slagroom, don't forget who hooked you up. :peace:

My two favorite records of theirs are The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place and All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone.

The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place is the most critically acclaimed. Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die is definitely up there for me too.

I'll be honest, though. Neither of those albums are as atmospheric as anything that Sonic Youth released through their SYR label.

True. i listened to " the earth.." and while is good, there is something missing for me from this guys, all the songs are kinda similar, or at least have the same vibe to me.

I've yet to embrace and understand Explosions In The Sky. What's wrong with me?

Sometimes you just need to give it time, bud.

What do you think of Mogwai?

I'm ashamed to say that I've yet to dive into that pool.

I know! Exciting.

Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, more of Bonnie Prince Billy and Mark Lanegan, and all while splashing around in Paul Westerberg.

Many bright nights ahead.

Actually kinda sounds like many dark, cold, whiskey soaked nights ahead.
