It kind of leads us to believe that chris was the whole problem, I'm not sure if this is already known and so for the sake of controversy I'm calling for the band to reform without him, with a new singer if they want, maybe not tad but whatever.

I believe Chris and other band members wanted to branch out musically but Kim wanted to stick to the Soundgarden formula....plus I think Ben was out of control at the time...

wasn't it chris who was jealous or upset that ben wrote most of the music etc.. the past few records?

I think they all wanted to write a lot. Chris wrote at least 2/3 of the last three SG records but Ben wrote a few of the band's most distinctive songs, including my favorite, "Head Down".

This threw me for a loop when I heard about it.
This is great to see. I've been a huge Soundgarden fan for many, many years, and seeing the guys on stage together again (minus Chris 'Timberlake' Cornell) gives me some hope of either seeing the guys out again live with another singer, or maybe some hope that the long rumored b-sides project that Kim was/is supposedly working on, will see the light of day.
Given the fact that this was probably, relatively, thrown together and the guys weren't rehearsing for months on end (in one of the videos on youtube it looks like Tad brought the lyrics out to the stage with him) they sounded pretty good too, and they still seem to click well together.
I gotta agree with the above poster, that Mark Arm probably would have been a more appropriate singer to have on stage, than Tad, but this is great regardless.

The way I remember it Kim wanted to keep going into more experimental territory while Chris and Matt were focused on steering the band into a more conventional rock landscape. As for Ben, yeah, I recall reading articles about his disposition. He was not exactly an enjoyable person to be around toward the end of the bands existence.

I heard Ben and Matt wanted to do a collaboration with The Cars, but Kim was pushing really hard to work with Cypress Hill instead, then Chris fucked Paulina in an American Apparel changing room, so the whole thing fell through and they broke up.

I heard Ben was notorious for eating the last bag of doritos at the practice space and never replaced anything. It wasn't a big deal until Chris, trying to fight into tighter blue jeans, switched to the kind cooked in olestra and Ben ruined Matt's best bass drum.
