That's funny because I just listened to it for the first time last month and it didn't grab me. Then I had it in the car this week and did 2 full listens. Maybe it's the amount of hype the band gets on RM but I'm still not completely convinced.

What's the next PT album I should check out after In Absentia?

I was thinking of checking out the 5.1 surround version of Deadwing. Is that not a good next step?

there really isn't a "wrong" step with these guys

Listening to "On The Sunday of Life" next would be a wrong step. ;)

I liked Stupid Dream alright. Nothing spectacular, but good music.

Or Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape or any of the pre-Up the Downstair recordings.

On a side note, I have spent the last couple of days relaxing with a joint after work and listening to each album that has a surround mix. It's been heavenly. I would have to say that Deadwing works the best. Not my favourite album by them but I think it is the best surround mix of the bunch. Sadly, I would say that Lightbulb Sun was the worst (maybe because it is my favourite stereo album).
