These are the ones where you can't just listen to one song; the whole thing has to be played from front to back to get the full effect. Playing just one or two tracks hardly ever happens with these; I put 'em on, sit back, relax, and enjoy how they all mold together. I'm excluding classical from this list.

5. Neutral Milk Hotel, Aeroplane Over the Sea

4. Radiohead, Kid A

3. Led Zeppelin, Four

2. Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon

1. Tool, Lateralus

it's a little different. i'll say U2's zooropa, and that's not my favourite. i'll also add abbey road, which... is my favourite.

edit: rem's new adventures in hi fi.

Rated R by QOTSA flows really well and each song plays off of eachother, metaphorically speaking.

I think it should be distinct from a "favorite album" thread due to the nature of the way I presented the topic.

My favorite album of all-time is Pearl Jam's "No Code," but it would appear nowhere on the sort of list I illustrated above. I'll leave the reasons why as an exercise to the reader.
