I was spinning some Depeche Mode - Music for the Masses and some GNR - Lies and UYI yesterday.
Over the weekend I was relunctantly dragged to this massive rummage sale and ended up leaving as happy as a pig in shit with some vintage Dynaco A25 speakers. They were in pristine condition and I got them for $20! You will often see these go for well over $250 online. Coupled with my Pioneer receiver/TT they give an extremely full sound for mid-sized speakers. There's nothing like vintage gear!

that's right. 180g reissue. now i just need to get my hands on a Broken lp.
I've been torn about whether or not to indulge in some new/reissue NIN on vinyl. On one hand they are a very vinyl-friendly band, but on the other hand there's nothing like NIN in surround sound from a DVD-A. Apparently I can only go with the extremes for Mr. Reznor.

i actually think that the Rez doesn't support this reissue since he had nothing to do with and interscope just put it out... i bought one anyway though

He doesn't....hopefully it's still a quality release. Let me know how the artwork looks.
*prays for Fragile reissue*

usually i wouldn't go for a non-band supported release (e.g., radiohead greatest hits vinyl or whatever that's $75), but come on, it's the downward spiral

This is how I feel too.
Man, that radiohead greatest hits thing was like $70 when I saw it. F that.

I scored a massive haul of LPs and a beautiful Acoustic Research Turntable this weekend. I'll let the pictures below do the talking... 1000+ LPs (mostly pop/rock from the 70s/80s, plus some classical) and an AR-XB turntable in the original packaging. All for the sweet price of $125, found on Kijiji in the Ottawa area.
Overall the records were well cared for, albeit a little dusty. The Shure cartridge on the AR-XB may be old, but still sounds great however there is a slight hum coming from the ground on the TT so I may end up changing the wires.
