OK. This is without doubt the best song on the album. Rarely does a song over seven minutes long seem to fly by so fast, like some ultra heavy blues drone that staples you to the floor. Definitely in my top five Led Zeppelin tunes.

Zoso, the Led Zeppelin tribute band (i think they're from cali) closed out their show with this number back in March, absolutely amazing live

There is no more instantly recognizable convoluted riff than this in the history of rock. JPJ and Bonham are again the standouts, particuarly throughout the outro. I am officially in love with Bonham's left hand.

Not sure how you can comment on this song without mentioning Page's solo.
It's basically his finest moment...brilliant in every way.

This was like one of the first songs on Napster........ I've heard it was just a guy coppin Page on an acoustic with Plant's vocal put on it.

Lots to like about this comfortable little acoustic gem. Plant owns this one with a faultless vocal delivery while Page does his usual folk mandolin thing. And who doesn't like songs about groupies and earthquakes?

Its JPJ who plays the mandolin.

You think this is his best solo?

Probably my favourite opening Led Zeppelin verse, probably 'cause I'm a big sap.

When I hear the live BBC version of this song I can't help but stop and play air guitar for that beast of a solo.

I have never felt very close to this one.

Ok I'm a bit late but seeing as nobody defended it....are you fucking kidding me?

This gives me butterfly's all the way through...Bonzo is sick on this. It drives, it kicks, it's fucking awesome!

But you win with selecting When The Levee Breaks as the best on IV.

I don't think so, particularly as maybe the best double album in the history of rock and roll is yet to come.

I thought I was a big fan of Zeb until I read his take on Zeppelin 2.

I don't have the time or emotional energy to put into quality write ups of every song on the first 5 albums, but I will say that without a doubt EVERY SONG on those first 5 albums deserve hours and hours of thought and feeling poured over them. What an amazing band.

Whata ya, what do you think i saw?!

Communication Breakdown

An instantly recognisable classic and unusual B-side to single Good Times Bad Times. You'd think it'd be the other way around really.

I do, and JPJ agrees with me.

Fool in the Rain is my second favorite Page solo.
Absolutely qualifies as the best solo by a guitarist who could no longer play.

Isnt the mandolin played by JPJ? At least it's him on live versions.
