Death On Two Wheels is a five piece rock n roll outfit with a nod to the 70's. Winston Audio is an alternative rock back band partial to the grudge era. Both bands are a part of the Favorite Gentlemen community of artists.
Winston Audio has always been vocal about its appreciation of the grunge movement and its influence on their music. While more classic in the rock influences department, Death On Two wheels also regards those same 90's bands. As well, their lead singer is aptly named Trae Vedder. The possibility (still unknown) of relation to Sir Edward "Eddie" Louis Severson Vedder III is a constant topic of conversation amongst both bands. Death On Two Wheels and Winston Audio toured together in 2010 and thought it would be interesting for bands and fans alike to cover a song Pearl Jam had also covered. Hence, "Crazy Mary" was recorded and given away to promote the tour.
Vocals on the track are traded back and forth between Winston Audio vocalist, Daniel Dewitt, and the aforementioned Vedder, of Death On Two Wheels. The song was recorded by members of both bands at separate studios. The sessions were emailed back and forth until the song was complete. Winston Audio recorded at Favorite Gentlemen headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Death On Two Wheels tracked at Hey Hey! Studios in Nashville, TN. The song was mixed and mastered there by Ryan Wilson.
