Did you find him through ECM, or have you heard his pre-ECM albums?

I love his voice as well. Have you heard Chiarascuro?

Have you also listened to Jon Hassell? Arve Henriksen cites him as an influence. His music is much more visceral. I think that I prefer it. He has a new album coming out in February. I love the title:

The Moon Came Last Night Dropping Its Clothes In The Street
