well shit. i don't know how to post an mp3, so I will tell you exactly what I'm looking for.

on Are you Experienced, Red House at the 2:14-2:17 mark.

I'm looking for more songs with this little guitar lick.


another example: Since I been Loving you: 4:15-4:16

he does 4-5 times in pretty much all of his songs. I'm trying to trace it back to its origins.

Well why didn't you say that in first place? Probably came from Robert Johnson.

Nope. The earliest occurrence I've found is from Albert King a couple years before Hendrix.

So far, I've went through Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, some Charley Patton, some Mance Lipscomb.

Currently going through the Freddie King catalog, of which there are many examples, and it is no secret that SRV was a Freddie disciple.
Next up is Howlin Wolf, then Lightnin Hopkins.
