i'm sure this will be GOOD, maybe even GREAT, but not everything Homme has touched has turned to gold.
examples?
i'm pretty that everything except the first kyuss record has at least turned to silver.

Pretty much, yeah.

uh no. i'm already pretty confident that Backspacer won't even be the 3rd best album released the week it comes out (#1 is Why? and #2 will be Monsters of Folk, possibly #3 being the new Richard Hawley or the new Pains of Being Pure a Heart EP)
You're probably right. Listening to the 30 second clip of Supersonic on Amazon just now made me puke a little in my mouth.
So does using such a ridiculously outdated drama queen phrase.
I try not to get too excited for music anymore, since all the bands i really like/d have done nothing but disappoint. But there was a certain crunch to that 14 second clip that was distinctly John Paul Jones.
Little bit of trivia- John Paul Jones played a role in the real life rick roll.

the new Arctic Monkeys record for starters?
and as i said previously, i like but don't LOVE the last 2 Queens records. they've kinda lost me a bit since Deaf, but those first 3 are totally MONEY. and yes, Kyuss ruled.
not all of the Desert Sessions are amazing either, but there's quiet a bit of killer amongst the filler there. Mondo Generator have been hit or miss for me. Wellwater are amazing, esp. the 2nd record.
not saying i don't love Homme and most everything he does, just being realistic here. i hope it's great, maybe even amazing, but i also won't be surprised if doesn't end up in my top 20 on the year either (granted i don't listen to too much heavier music these days anyhow).

Way to be an asshole I didn't know that disliking a 30 second clip of a new song made me sound like a drama queen. If you don't get excited for music anymore, then why discuss new music with others on a message board?

solace is trying to get you on a technicality, given that Homme produced their new album.
oh yeah i think i remember hearing about that a while back. that obviously doesn't count, he produced that second millionaire album that was terrible too i don't think it's quite his forte.
