I've never really found a straight answer to this, so maybe someone here can help.
I was wondering what tracks Lanegan does lead vocals on? I've heard some people say that it was just Hangin' Tree, Song for the Dead, God Is In The Radio, This Lullaby and In The Fade, but I've also heard some people add other songs to that list (i.e. You've Got a Killer Scene).
The main reason that I'm so confused is that, as much as I hate to say it, as far as Queens records go, Lanegan's vocals don't sound all that different from Homme's. I mean, if someone told me that Lanegan sang lead on, say, Someone's In The Wolf, I'd believe it.

dude you are crazy. anyway he does lead vocals on in the fade, song for the dead, hanging tree, god is in the radio, this lullaby, and precious and grace (along with billy gibbons). he also sang walking on the sidewalks and autopilot live. he sings backup on a number of songs including burn the witch, autopilot, song for the deaf, river in the road, killer scene and think i lost my headache but it varies as to how much you can distinctly hear him.

First of all, thanks for the answer.
Second of all, fuck you, soma.
Third of all, yes, I know they sound nothing alike. I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't missing some kind of vocal trickery, either Lanegan singing high (not fucking likely) of Homme singing low.
Trust me, this isn't a case of me being deaf or whatever. I'm one of the guys that's always suggesting Lanegan's work to people and and fawning over his voice.
I just wanted to be sure since there was no distinct answer elsewhere.
Mark Lanegan - Queens Of The Stone Age: Precious & Grace
i just made this live compilation of QOTSA songs where Lanegan sings on.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/tiq3m8 it's all mp3 v0 from original FLAC files, with the exception of "Precious And Grace" which i accidentally transcoded from a 192 mp3 to v0. i can upload the FLAC over the weekend if there is demand for it.

I can understand your confusion. Homme has been ape-ing Lanegan's vocal style on certain cuts for a while now. Started with Wit Chu on DS 9/10 and has continued on Era Vulgaris.

What he said.

I really need to listen DS. Is it worth having for someone like me who is a "huge casual" QOTSA fan who owns all of their albums?
Some of the Desert Sessions stuff is wonderful. You should track it down, keeping in mind that it's almost impossible to find a first hand copy of the first four.

other than hangin' tree and this lullaby there hasn't been too much stuff Lanengan has done with QOTSA that I've liked all that much. The same is true with his twilight singer material. It's too bad

Not especially, which is probably part of the problem. I did download this though. Thanks for offering it!
