I hadn't visited Supergrass' main site in a while, so I was surprised to find out that they're getting set to release their 6th album (counting the 10 year compilation). Bassist Mick Quinn apparently broke his foot or ankle recently and is recovering and they're in the mixing stages. They're shooting for a release in January or February. If you sign up for their mailing list on the main site you're given a live 192kbps mp3 of the album title track "Diamond Hoo Ha Man" that sounds like its from the soundboard. There's a recent summer gig up on Dimeadozen from a radio broadcast that also includes another new song "Bad Blood." New Supergrass definitely sounds like a great way to start 2008.

I've been listening to a few of the radio broadcast torrents floating around on Dime. Apparently bassist Mick Quinn was sleepwalking and he more or less fell and broke his back. I don't know how involved he's been in recording the new album, but he surprised everyone by showing up at a recent show and playing the last two songs. In his absence, Gaz Goombes and Danny Goffey took on the alternate personalities "Duke & Randy," hopefully just as a goof.
Here's a link for the video for the 1st single "Diamond Hoo Ha Man." Their best was "Sun Hits The Sky," but at least the guitars on this sound pretty sweet.

at the time I saw them live at festivals. The last time was a bit less than all times before, but it must be at least 12 years ago now...
groetjes, Mirella

Holy shit. After one listen this completely knocks me out. I'd already heard the first two songs, but when the Rebel In You hit, I knew this would be their best record since In It For The Money. Maybe better. I liked the other harder mix for 345 better, but overall... Holy shit!
