PLACEBO - THE RETURN!
Placebo are back in the studio working on a new album! The band finished their last touring campaign in September of last year in the USA (on the Projekt Revolution tour with Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance). Since then the band have taken some much needed time out and over the past couple of months have been hard at work writing and demoing new material in London. The boys are now recording with producer David Bottrill (the man behind Tool’s ‘Aenima’, ‘Salival’ and ‘Lateralus’ albums, Silverchair’s ‘Diorama’ and dEUS ‘The Ideal Crash’). Engineering the album is James Brown who worked with the band on ‘Meds’.
...And on the drums with Placebo...?????!!!!! Introducing... Mr Steve Forrest! Hailing from Modesto, California, he was previously the drummer with American rock band, ‘Evaline’. Some of you may have spotted Steve playing with Evaline supporting Placebo on their US tour in October '06.
interesting.

psychobain made the comparison. As far as bands who emerged in the 90s and are still making albums, I'd say Placebo have a lot more momentium than Pearl Jam.
Sucks to be you re: tiredness.

Placebo's music has been boring me to death for years now, that's it. I'm not even saying they suck, it's just that all their songs sound the same to me and they actually think they're great.

I fucking love Placebo and I can't believe anyone would like Meds was similar to the old stuff. I'm really surprised to hear they are doing another one as i had half expected them to go out on a high the Meds. I really hope the next doesnt blow hard so then they fade into oblivion.

Placebo have announced that they will release their as-yet untitled next album in June.
The album was produced by David Bottrill and wil be the follow-up to 2006's 'Meds'.
The record will be the first to feature new drummer Steve Forrest.
The band have signed with [PIAS], a European entertainment group they will now release their music through.
In a statement frontman Brian Molko said, "We were very lucky to have so many great labels interested in signing us, it means a lot, especially after 12 years of releasing records!
"But we now feel we have the right partner for Europe in these ever-changing times to continue this crazy adventure and to scale even dizzier heights with our new record."
